Master is Back

I am not an avid cricket lover, which is sort of a crime in India. But I am a great fan of Sachin Tendulkar. He has broken almost every other batting record the book has kept. However, I feel what more important is the way he has achieved it with tirelessly tearing apart the best bowling attacks of past two decades. His slump in form and recent defensive approach has been a cause of worry. So, watching yesterday’s innings was sheer pleasure. His critics will say that grounds are small and so on. According to me he is making best use of conditions. Had grounds been bigger, he would have adapted differently but result would have been the same. Sachin still has got the ability to treat us with some majestic stroke play and his locomotive like running between the wickets shows how sacred the blue jersey is for him. He is definitely right up there in the list of greatest cricketer ever, even though ICC sighs away from admitting to it. Surely, Class is permanent.
